One of the largest rail museums in the nation with over 70 pieces of vintage rolling stock, the National Railroad Museum brings the history of the railways to life. In addition to the rolling stock, the museum houses several railroad artifacts, an archive and photography gallery. Visitors can tour the museum grounds with a 25-minute train ride. During the tour, passengers will learn about various trains at the museum and get a history of hobo culture.
The National Railroad Museum hosts a number of events throughout the year. Horror fans will enjoy the annual Terror on the Fox, which includes a haunted house and ride on a passenger train car. For a more family-friendly experience, the museum hosts A Day Out With Thomas where visitors can enjoy a train ride with their favorite engine, live music and plenty of activities for the kids.
